Well, due to an early appointment, I was unable to make it to the TOPS meeting this week. However, my wife did attend and posted a 1 lb weight loss.

I was disappointed because I felt like I had lost some weight. Neither of us really got to work out like we wanted, however we are doing better with our diets. Yes, we do “splurge” every once in a while and have something we really want, like a Mexican dinner.

It’s my belief that you can not deprive yourself of something you really crave or you’ll bust your diet wide open. We’re in the process of trying to plan our “fat days”. If we both agree to eat out or have a heavy meal at supper time, then we cut back the entire day. By “cutting back” I don’t mean skipping meals. I mean eating more protein instead of carbs and cutting back our portions.

We also plan on working out a little longer the following day to burn any excess calories we may have taken in on those “fat days.” So far, it has worked for us. We haven’t posted huge losses, however we really haven’t started our big workouts either. It’s just been too darn hot here in Texas!
