My wife and I had our first weigh in with our newly joined TOPS group.
I was a little reluctant to go, seeing how I didn’t really work out last week. I was just too darn busy and I didn’t do as well as I wanted with my diet.
But I went anyway.
I was pleasantly surprised to see my wife had lost 3 1/4 pounds! I’m very proud of her, she has been walking nearly every day and doing a much better job of watching her food intake than I have been recently. She has a goal to lose 30 lbs by the end of the year and she’ll make that easy if she keeps on her current track!
I on the other hand had a surprise as well. Amazingly, I too lost 3 1/4 pounds! Don’t ask me how I did it, because I felt as if I’d stayed the same or perhaps had even gained a pound or so. I have to credit it with my water intake along with my diet. I still think one of the largest, if not THE largest difference, is the cutting out of nearly all soft drinks from my diet.
I generally have either ice water or ice tea with my meals. I might have 1 or 2 soft drinks a week, where as before I was drinking about a 2 litre worth of soft drinks a day.
Well, 3 1/4 lbs is nothing to thumb your nose at, especially since I wasn’t trying to put up weight loss numbers. I’ll take that any ole week.
My new weight is now 349 3/4 lbs.
The TOPS meeting was fun. I’m still amazed at all the activities they have going on with our group. I think 17 or 18 people showed up for this meeting. I haven’t been there long enough to really get a grasp on all the different activities they have going on so I can’t comment on all of them. (I probably should read the folder full of information they gave us when we signed up, I bet that would help! LOL)
I do plan on being more active this week and cracking down on my diet. I want to lose at least 5 lbs in the upcoming week. I know that is obtainable with just a few workouts and adjusting my diet.
Check back in next week to see if my wife or I won the weekly weight in, that’s my goal!
