If you’re interested in the sacred heart diet, here are a few recipes to make the sacred heart diet soup that is becoming so popular among those of us who are losing weight. While I don’t recommend using the sacred heart diet plan as a full time diet plan, it is very helpful when you need to lose weight quickly, it can be especially helpful when you’ve plateau’d or have just a few stubborn pounds left to go in reaching your weight loss goal.
The Sacred Heart Recipe was originally designed to help very obese heart patients lose weight quickly at the Sacred Heart Hosptial. Since then, the sacred heart diet has gained popularit among dieters and those needing to lose a few pounds quickly.
Cooking Directions:
Place all ingredients into a pot or kettle and bring to a boil for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer until all ingredients are tender, usually at least 1 1/2 hours. The longer you let the sacred heart soup simmer, the more flavorful it will be.
You should notice an increase in your energy levels within a few days as you lose weight. Don’t live on this soup alone as you’ll not be getting all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs. It’s a great “filler” meal or good food for the occassional meal replacement. Some have claimed that this soup recipe is a great detox food also.
Here is another sacred heart soup recipe, one that is a little less on ingredients.
Cooking Directions:
Place all ingredients into a large pot and bring to a boil. Boil for approximately 5 minutes and reduce to a simmer. Let simmer on Low for 1 to 1/2 hours or until vegetables are tender. I let mine simmer longer as the soup is much more flavorful. You can then let the sacred heart soup cool and freeze in individual plastic freezer bags or refrigerate and eat it for the next week.
The following is a sample 7 day plan to help you lose weight quickly. You should adjust this plan for your body and workout limits. Remember, this is only a sample plan to get you started on a regular weight loss plan.
With this plan, you will combine the Sacred Heart Soup with the following foods on the following days. No bread, pasta or alcholic beverages. Also, leave he soda’s alone, even the diet ones. Water, tea or coffee are low or zeroe calorie substitues.
There you go. It’s that simple. These recipes are great Plateau busters. Try adding these recipes or diet plan to your routine for a refreshing change.

3This diet is great. Did something similar 20 years ago and never gained back..U can gain back if U go back to junk food and so on. After I got in my forties, I started to gain weight and went on a balanced diet and lost 2-3 lbs a week. It doesn’t matter what plan u r on.. if U stray and eat and drink too many calories U will gain weight. I have done both. I have gained a little weight now and just made a pot of light soup. Delicious the way I make it and hardly any calories. Good way to satisfy myself and get rid of wanting the junk and tons of carbs.

4I just looked up the sacred heart diet today, I am sure glad I found the soup recipe and the 7 day diet plan to follow. I had went on this diet about 12 yrs ago and lost 68 pounds.. by doing the diet 2 weeks and off for 1 week and then back on for 2 weeks… did this for 4 – 5 months and kept my weight off. Very excellent diet plan.. I have just put on 23 pounds and I am going to take it off fast. Plus it will really lower my callestrol and blood sugar.. one note eat moderate the week your off the diet… or do it continous for l month on diet and each seventh day make that your free day to have what you want.. good luck..
