Here is a great recipie if you have kids...

3 c. miniature marshmallows
1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/4 c. honey
3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
4 c. Rice Krispies
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt together the first 5 ingredients, stirring over low heat until marshmallows are melted. Add Rice Krispies and vanilla.

Place in foil-lined pan and cool thoroughly. Cut into squares. Store in plastic container. Makes 24 squares. (They are good to send to children who are away at school.)

I love the first recipe, the Energy Oat bars!!! Just made them and they are great! All the recipes I've been finding are more of a granola bar but this one is exactly what I've been craving, more of an energy type bar. Thanks!!

Little disappointed to see the words "Reese's" and "corn syrup" turn up in a search for energy bars.

ever tried Matisse & Jack's homemade energy bars? i think they renamed them power snacks. they are baking mixes that you add applesauce to, and bake, for your own energy bars. taste delicious (fresh!) but are easier to make and a good price.

Nice to see all these recipes but I have to wonder... power bar or sugar bar. Some sound more like a kiddie snack and lack the nutrtition needed. I'll agree that they sure sound tasty but a couple I wouldn't eat on a daily basis.

The oat bars sound great but I would eliminate the chips mostly due to the fat factor. Just my opinion guys... the healthier the better.
